Sam has over 20 years of architecture-related professional experience. Prior to establishing Sam Kachmar Architects in 2007, he was Architect in training at the notable architecture firms of Marcus Gleysteen Architects of Boston, MA, Poss Architecture and Planning in Aspen CO, HKT Architects in Somerville, MA, and was also a Construction Project Manager at Payne Bouchier, a high end custom home builder. Sam earned a Bachelor of Architecture with Honors from Syracuse University. Sam also studied Architecture intensively in Florence Italy with Syracuse University. He has been a member of the AIA and has traveled extensively through South America, Europe, America, and Southeast Asia with a focus on studying architecture and art. Sam discovered his passion for architecture when he was 5 years old and wanted to become an architect.
As the principal of the firm, he brings an innovative approach to the Architecture and Construction process. As an architect who understands how to build, he fuses residential design with the latest developments for residential construction. His project experience focuses on residential construction and renovation. He has a proven track record of successfully guiding projects through complex permitting processes, working with clients to get projects to achieve their vision, on schedule, within budget, while reaching a high level of craftsmanship. He is an active member in the AIA, BSA, NCARB and LEED, as well as the overall industry network.
